The last spread is finished, let's take a look at it!
The past month has been all about embroidery journals on this blog! And there's still a bit more since we will be taking a look at YOUR wonderful journals and announcing the winner of the giveaway :)
By the way, this mini-journal that I've been making is also part of the prize and will head to the winner, hope it cheers you up!
I missed doing some shading so for the last spread I decided to work a little needlepainted flower.
Stitching while away from home is a bit tricky since you're limited in the thread choice (I still haven't found here any thread stores), but thankfully the stash that I took with me was enough for this little pretty flower to be born.
It's not modeled after any real-life flower but is more of a fantasy. Any resemblance to an actual plant is accidental! :D
I was planning to work the leaves in long and short stitch first as well, but then decided to leave them as simple linework. I think it creates a nice contrast between techniques and helps the flower to stand out more while still entertaining the viewer with a bit more details :)
And, of course, let's appreciate our todays!
So this became the last spread of this embroidery mini-journal. Now, let's take a look at the full journal:
Thank you for hanging out with me on this journey! Hope the new owner will enjoy flipping through the pages as much as I do.
See the two tutorials for the first two spreads here and here, and you can enroll in the "How to make an embroidery journal" course here.
See you later for the announcement of the giveaway winner!
