Whimsical lemon tree tutorial: a freebie

Whimsical lemon tree freebie

Look what I found! Well, not that I've lost it. Actually, this lemon tree's been up on one of my shelves for over a year now. But most importantly, it already has ready instructions which you can download for free now :)

So the story goes like that. More than a year ago I wanted to make a series of whimsical tree designs for my shop with this one being the first. Instructions were ready, but the project got frozen and the shop wasn't re-launched back then.

After a while, I started developing a totally different style for my designs and currently this pattern doesn't fit anywhere in my shop.

But wouldn't it be a waste for it to collect the dust in the folders of my computer instead of being worked by other stitchers?

So I decided to give it away for free!

Furthermore, a lemon tree is an excellent design to stitch this summer season :)

The pattern is not very difficult. If you have at least some basic experience in hand embroidery, you will tackle it with minimal struggle. If you are a complete beginner, it would be a nice push into the world of fine hand embroidery and there are detailed instructions there that won't let you get lost and confused.

The PDF file includes the stitch guide with the pictures of working the stitches and instructions. If you still get troubled though, you should know that all of the stitches have already been covered in the blog: split stitch, stem stitch, buttonhole stitch, pistil stitch and padded satin stitch.

Additionally, the whole process of working the pattern is explained in the detail with the pictures for each step. All in all, you can consider it as a full thorough PDF tutorial that walks you through the project.

By the way, I also included the list of DMC thread which I used when working the design. But frankly speaking, when I look at it today, I myself am not too fond of the color palette. If I worked it again in the present I would use some other colors, probably a bit more vibrant?

Anyway, you can adjust whatever you want in the pattern: change the colors, change the scale, add some extra elements. Just don't sell or distribute the pattern, okay? That's the only condition.

So yeah... Feel free to download and enjoy it to the fullest!

And don't forget to show me your result if you complete it! I love seeing your works :)

Have a nice weekend!
